One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat , Book Review
One Indian Girl is a book written by Chetan Bhagat.
I read this book last month and I found it interesting, humorous, romantic and also kind of too mature for me and in all a strange experience. It depicts the life of Radhika Mehta who is getting married and is found in a love square( Yes a square because there were 3 boys so I think that makes it a square and not a triangle). She finds that her boyfriend from New York has come to stop her marriage who is Debashish and also her boss from Hong Kong who is 45 years old has also come to marry her. Now there is one more boy , the one she has to marry named Brijesh. The story truly is one of the best ones I have read and it really speaks about women and how they are equal to men and not superior to or inferior to them. There are also some additional characters which make the story a lot more fun like Radhika's bua (father's sister) , her sister and her mother.

Well it was ok but eww, eww, eww. I mean there should be a Caution or Disclaimer on the front page or at least the cover that its meant for ages above 18 years and the fact that I saw this book in my Book Fair in "MY SCHOOL" blows my mind!! I mean I saw it when I was like 14 years old . And children bought it too.
I mean why why did I read this. And what is wrong with this Radhika why does she run away from all her lovers. I mean she had to cause they didn't treat her right . But leaving the country is not a solution. Both the times once the US because of Debashish and the second time she left Hong Kong beacuse of Neil. I mean the way Chetan Bhagat uses words is just out of this world. He used slangs which was surely fun to read since I'm a teen. She fell in love with her boss which is like not right. Her first boyfriend didn't want her to work and had the mentality that she should stay home and look after kids. Her second boyfriend wanted her to work and did not want her to have kids. Its kind of like opposite. But both of them didn't want to support her the way they should. She did the right thing and left them. The part about the beach was not expected by me. And Radhika has a lot of guts. I must say that. She turned from this studious ,book worm to just a totally different person.
I liked her bua. She always came and added a fun element.

This book really just drips of Feminism. Its a really good book. It shows that Radhika is a strong, independent woman who can earn as much as a guy can or even more. We see that she came from a conservative society which thinks that girl's should marry at an early age . We see her mother pressurising her literally everyday to get married. I loved the ending. She finally stood up for herself and showed that women are strong and can take right decisions for themselves.
Overall it was a good book and I recommend reading it if you are above 18 years of age ;) .
This took a lot of time for me to write.
