Earth Day is a beautiful day to celebrate our mother earth. The trees, the oceans, the animals, etc. We can save them or at least try to save them. It just takes a little effort. 

There are more than 3 trillion trees in the world, according to the journal Nature. The world's overall tree leader is Russia, with 642 billion trees, according to The Washington Post. (I guess they don't just built missiles)

I hope we can increase the tree population. You can increase that too. Just plant a sapling. It looks simple but it is a lot harder. If you are too lazy to plant one yourself you can always donate a little bit money to online websites like the following. You can donate to any other website you want.

Our beaches, are now trash lands. They are filled with our garbage. That garbage enters the sea and destroys the marine life too. There is a freaking garbage island in the middle of the ocean! An island made of garbage. It floats in the ocean.

I feel so bad for the marine life. What is their fault? We destroying their homes by oil spills, making ocean water acidic, increasing carbon dioxide levels of oceans and by dumping waste in them. I don't think I will ever be able to see the Great Barrier Reef. Why? Because ocean water is becoming acidic and CO2 levels are increasing. I saw a documentary on National Geographic about how this is causing so much harm to the corals. Here you can watch it too.

This is what you can do -

  • Stop using air-conditioners all the time. Use it only when needed.

  • Just switch off the lights. Use it only when its needed. You don't have to make your home look like a light house. Plus you will also get a smaller electricity bill.

  • Buy less stuff. It will reduce the waste you produce. And the things you already have, use them down to the last drop. It will reduce your grocery bill and also help our Earth.

In the last century, the world sea level rose by 17 cm according to earthday.org . Do you know how much that is? That is the length of your head!

Earth day has now become like Environment day and Water day in which we all "talk" about how we are destroying it by posting on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. If you don't mean it then don't post it. Please do not do it for the likes and retweets. If you doing it for raising awareness then it is a good thing. I have seen people posting these things and then using fireworks at New Year's or any festival. Hypocrites will be hypocrites!

It is not that hard, if we all come together, not even all, just some of us then too we will be able to save our planet. It is dying and we are the ones killing it. Again I will say it "It is not my trash but it is my planet". So if you can help in cleaning it or saving it you should do your part. A little can make a huge difference.
