THE FAULT IN OUR STARS BY JOHN GREEN | BOOK REVIEW
The book The Fault In Our Stars deals with life, love, and loss. All the three things and many more together as a whole. A story about love, friendship, and relationship. It is my favourite book. I finished reading it for the first time last year in April 2020 when we were all in lockdown.
Painful, flirty, and beautiful. These three words describe the whole book for me.
The main characters are Hazel Grace who has stage four lung cancer and Augustus Waters who had Osteosarcoma and has one prosthetic leg because of it.
The whole story is made a lot better by Patrick, Hazel's mom, and of course Peter Van Houten. Patrick, who is Gus's (short for Augustus) friend adds to the fun of the story. He had lost one eye as a kid and loses another one later in the novel. One of the best scenes was when he went to throw eggs at his ex-girlfriend's car. That part was hilarious just when her life gets a little better, our dear author decides to drop yet another bomb in Hazel's life.
I just want to say words have so much power. The whole novel is a work of fiction but it teaches us so much. About friendship, love, loss, pain, emotions. A beautiful novel with an awesome story.
I would rate it 4.5 out of 5. I highly recommend reading this book. If you are into teen drama/love/romance. Or even if you have just started reading. This is a must-read for you then.
